Tunnel to Towers Presents: Season of Hope

For the month of December, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is providing 24 catastrophically injured veterans and Gold Star and Fallen First Responder families with mortgage-free homes – a month of giving we’re calling the Season of Hope.

This past year has been the most successful in the Foundation’s history thanks to unprecedented support by partners like The Home Depot Foundation and GMC, surprise initiatives like the Stand Up for Betsy Ross apparel by Rush and Kathryn Limbaugh, and so much more. To celebrate this monumental achievement, the Foundation is planning its most ambitious chain of home unveilings and dedications yet. During the Season of Hope, the Foundation will provide 24 homes in 24 days, starting on December 1 running through Christmas Eve, to the bravest and most deserving of our nation.

By the end of the year, the Tunnel to Towers will have provided 53 mortgage-free homes across our three major programs: the Gold Star Family Home Program, Fallen First Responder Program and Smart Home Program, in 2019 alone.

The first hero we’re announcing is Illinois State Trooper Nicholas Hopkins, killed in the line of duty in St. Louis, IL. He was a 10-year veteran of the Illinois State Police Department who served a majority of time with the Illinois State Police SWAT Unit. Even in death, he continued to save lives, as his organs were donated to benefit as many as 40 people.

He is survived by his wife Whitney and three children: twins Evelyn and Owen and their younger sister Emma.

Check back each day to meet the families, learn their stories and see how your $11 per month donation is making a difference in the lives of our heroes and their families.

Even with all the good we have accomplished this year, there are still more deserving families and veterans waiting for the stability and security of a mortgage-free home. While the sacrifice they have made can never truly be repaid, lifting the financial burden of their home is the least we can do as Americans for our nation’s greatest protectors.

You can help the Foundation continue to provide mortgage-free homes by donating just $11 per month.
