The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™ is our September 11, 2001 education program. It is the go-to resource for educators of all types to get the non-fiction, first-person resources they need to teach children across the country about the extraordinary heroism and goodness of everyday people who inspired our nation and demonstrated the strength and resilience of America’s spirit during our nation’s darkest time, when the deadliest terrorist attacks of their kind took place on our country’s soil and innocent civilians of all ages and backgrounds were targeted.

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™ provides educators with valuable 9/11 perspectives and resources to inform all ages about 9/11, but especially those born after that day.

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™ offers full curriculum units for teachers. All units have been developed by educators within the 9/11 community, are based on non-fiction, true accounts of the day and include social studies lessons, learning activities and background for instructors to ensure ease of implementation.

A tribute to all who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, this 83-foot tractor-trailer transforms into an 1,100-square-foot exhibit to educate people of all ages about 9/11 through artifacts, such as steel beams from the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, documentary videos and recordings of first responder radio transmissions on 9/11. Interactive guided tours of the exhibit are carried out by FDNY firefighters who provide firsthand accounts of the day and its aftermath.

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute™ is proud to introduce the Russell F. Siller Memorial Scholarships, in honor of Russell F. Siller (August 6, 1942 – November 8, 2019), who was a bright, guiding light to his students. These financial scholarships will be awarded to the children of program recipients who are exemplary high school students preparing for college or vocational college. The applicant will be asked to showcase community service to others and is required to make a video submission as part of their application.

Since its inception in 2001, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has honored and paid tribute to the 2,977 innocent souls who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, including the heroism of first responders who gave their lives protecting others, and those who continue to lose their lives from 9/11-related illnesses. Our longstanding commitment to helping America to Never Forget has never wavered.

We vowed to NEVER FORGET; it’s time to educate future generations.
