About Us

The Tunnel to Towers Young Professionals Network is dedicated to connecting the younger generations to the mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation through events, fundraising, and professional mentoring to ensure we Never Forget.

“WHILE WE HAVE TIME, LET US DO GOOD!”

In 2018 the YPN was founded by 11 young professionals whose life and work experience was varied and diverse but they all shared a passion for participating in and fundraising for the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC. Since then we have continued to grow and expand our network allowing us to better support the Foundation in their mission and programs.

The work of the YPN is carried out through three committees and supported by our Executive Board.

  • Events & Marketing Committee which is responsible for coordinating & developing impactful content & events while providing marketing support to all other committees.
  • First Responder Committee which supports the first responder and military community by engaging with communities via social media, service projects, and support at third-party events.
  • Recruitment Committee leads our efforts in expanding the group while also facilitating the interview and onboarding process for new members of our network

If you’re a young professional (21-40) with a passion for supporting our soldiers and first responders and dedicated to ensuring that we Never Forget the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001, then we encourage you to join us!

Genevieve Prifte

President
Genevieve Prifte
Genevieve is our current President and a founding member of the YPN. She is an Event Executive & Operational Strategist with over 15 years of experience leading B2B, B2C, and Medical Education conferences and tradeshows as well as company operations. “Bringing people together has always brought me joy, but being able to bring people together for a purpose as important as the Foundation’s is humbling. Joining the YPN allowed me to support our military and first responders 365 days a year. This is how I can be part of the solution and supporting the mission of the foundation has become my calling.”

Dan Fessel

Officer
Dan Fessel
Dan is an experienced institutional sales and advisory professional within the financial services sector. The stories of friends and families from 9/11 pushed Dan to put action to his passion for the Tunnel to Towers mission. “The greatest thing about being involved, are the friends and relationships I have forged within this group while making an impact monetarily and through service while sharing the story of the Foundation.”

Nicole Marschean

Officer
Nicole Marschean
Nicole is a litigation associate of a New York law firm where she is a member of the sports and entertainment industry team. “As a 9/11 family member, I attended one of the early T2T 5Ks. The experience was incredibly moving, and I was grateful for the space the Foundation created to honor and remember those who lost their lives that day.”

Bryan Arsi

First Responder Co-Chair
Bryan Arsi
Bryan is a founding member of the YPN and has been a police officer with the Ramsey Police Department for 11 years. “I am honored to have the ability to be a positive influence to those within the community and a symbol of protection for all. Being a part of the group has allowed me to meet so many incredible people who inspire me to continue my efforts outside of my professional arena to create those positive influences on a greater scale while providing me the platform to honor those that have fought and sacrificed for our country both domestically and overseas. I love having the opportunity to speak and advocate for those that no longer have a voice or don’t have their voices heard.”

Lauren Sapienza

Officer
Lauren Sapienza
Lauren is a consultant at Deloitte where she focuses on National Security. Lauren became involved with Tunnel to Towers & the YPN because she comes from a long line of FDNY and NYPD on both sides of her family, and this is a way that Lauren can give back to a community that has given her so much. “Working with the dedicated and innovative Tunnel to Towers Young Professionals Network to support our first responder and military community is a dream.”

Susan Fiorentino

First Responder Co-Chair
Susan Fiorentino
Susan is a founding member and currently works at the Staten Island Academy. She became involved with the Foundation because of her father, a 9/11 First Responder (now a retired NYPD Detective) to continue to do good and heal through the pain. Susan is currently writing a book “WE WILL NEVER FORGET: The Stories of 9/11 First Responder Children” where she is sharing her and others stories of that day and life after, all proceeds will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. “The experiences I have had as a member of the YPN has made me even more appreciative of being the daughter of a 9/11 First Responder and motivate me every day to do my part in making sure we Never Forget and continue to show love and support for our First Responders.”

Natalie McHale

Events Chair
Natalie McHale
Natalie is an Account Manager for a consumer marketing agency that specializes in cultural relevance, experiential, brand strategy, progressive multi-cultural marketing, influencer integration, and amplification. “My Dad is a surviving 9/11 first responder, so I have a personal connection behind why the Foundation was started in the first place. Because of 9/11, I’ve experienced (and continue to experience) the effects of what happens after heroic first responders sacrifice their lives and health to keep us safe. The positivity spread by the Foundation proves that love always wins.”

Kathryn Butare

Marketing Chair
Kathryn Butare
Kathryn is a Marketing Coordinator for Thornton Tomasetti where she provides strategic marketing and graphic design supporting all 10 practices of the firm, supporting technical experts in the US, Canada, and Pacific Rim regions. “My favorite part about being a part of this network and the Foundation is that we are making a difference in the lives of the people who make a difference in ours. This Foundation is a reminder of how much good there is in the world.”

Terrance Wagner

Terrance Wagner
Terrance works as an attorney on Bloomberg’s Legal and Compliance team, where he focuses on research and valuation. “The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has always given back to those who protect our lives at any cost, and the YPN gives me the opportunity to support them. Our network is not just another non-profit or young professional group, it’s more like a family.”
