Tunnel to Towers Foundation Vows to Support Family of Fallen Texas Police Officer

Officer Kyle Hicks was shot and killed after responding to a call for help

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS [May 6, 2024] –The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced its plans to provide a mortgage-free home to the family of Corpus Christi Police Officer Kyle Hicks. 

Officer Hicks was shot while responding to a call of a domestic disturbance on April 20th. He succumbed to his injuries four days later, on April 24th.  

He worked with the Corpus Christi police for two years and continued to save lives even after his passing as an organ donor. He left behind his wife, Cassandra, and four young children. 

Tunnel to Towers spoke with the Hicks family and informed them the Foundation would provide them with a mortgage-free home. 

“Every day, America’s first responders answer calls for help with no idea what awaits them. Officer Hicks answered a call for help – and it cost him his life. Tunnel to Towers is honored to provide Cassandra and their children with a mortgage-free home so they can grieve and heal without the burden of a mortgage,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman & CEO Frank Siller.  

The Tunnel to Towers Fallen First Responder Home Program pays off the mortgage or provides a mortgage-free home for the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty, pass away from 9/11-related illnesses, and leave behind young children.
