Watch Smart Home Recipient Clark Cavalier See New Home for First Time

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation has changed the life of another veteran, this time USMC Corporal Clark Cavalier, through it’s Smart Home Program.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation builds mortgage-free smart homes for our most catastrophically-injured service members through our Smart Home Program. Each home is customized to address the unique needs of each individual. Smart homes host a myriad of features, including automated doors and lighting, wider halls and doorways, special showers to accommodate wheelchairs, automatic door openers, cabinets, counters and stove tops that can be raised and lowered, back-up generators and central heating and air conditioning systems that can be controlled by tablets. These homes enable our most severely injured heroes live better, more independent lives.

While on patrol on April 24, 2011, USMC Corporal Clark Cavalier was catastrophically injured. Cavalier lost both his legs above the knee and suffered a serious injury to his left arm and hand.

Watch as Cavalier walks into his smart home for the first time and takes a look at the defining features that will help him feel more at home and independent. For us here at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, helping a veteran come back to honor, respect and gratitude is the least we can do.

The Foundation offers a special thanks to each and every sponsor that helps make this program a reality. Each step of the process, from construction to reveal is facilitated by the friends, partners and sponsors of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Without their help, we would not be able to DO GOOD for heroes like Clark.
