Tunnel to Towers Pays Off Mortgages for Fallen Tulsa Firefighter and Midwest City Police Sergeant

Mortgage payoffs are part of Tunnel to Towers’ 4th Annual Season of Hope

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is honored to announce it has paid, in full, the mortgages on the homes of Tulsa Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Ryan Phillips and Midwest City Police Department Sergeant Frank Rodriguez as part of its annual Season of Hope Campaign.

Tunnel to Towers’ Season of Hope, celebrates the holiday season by ensuring these families, who are facing the holidays without their loved one, will always have a place to call home.

Tulsa Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Ryan Phillips passed away from a job-related heart attack on April 2, 2019.

He started his firefighting career in February of 2005 when he was accepted into the Tulsa Fire Academy. He began his 14-year-long career at Station 29 on South Lewis and soon advanced his education even further to become a paramedic. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, and their daughter. Tunnel to Towers paid off the mortgage on their Tulsa home.

Midwest City Police Department Sergeant Frank Rodriguez died on September 29th, 2021 from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.

Rodriguez began a lifetime of service with the Army as an infantryman in January 2002. Rodriguez earned the rank of Sergeant and served multiple tours of duty in Iraq during his seven years of service. After leaving the military he pursued a law enforcement career. He served numerous communities participating in various roles within the law enforcement area. His most recent job involved serving as a school resource officer at Midwest City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He left behind his wife, Pauline, and their three children. Tunnel to Towers paid off the mortgage on his Choctaw, home.

“It is hard to explain how anything could comfort us during such a difficult time. However, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation gave us the gift of our home which gave us stability. It has allowed us time to grieve and gives us an opportunity to start to heal. Frank would have been so honored, the aid given to us by the foundation is a tribute to his sacrifice,” said Pauline Rodriguez.

By the end of the year, Tunnel to Towers will have delivered over 200 mortgage-free homes across the country to America’s heroes and their families.

Join us on our mission to provide mortgage-free homes to the heroes and the families they leave behind by donating $11 per month at t2t.org.
