Tunnel to Towers Foundation Pays off Mortgages for Fallen NYPD

Mortgage payoffs are part of Tunnel to Towers’ 4th Annual Season of Hope

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is honored to announce it has paid, in full, the mortgages on the Baldwin Place home of NYPD Detective First-Grade Christopher Brian McDonnell and the Guilford, Connecticut home of NYPD Officer Eric Murray as part of its annual Season of Hope Campaign.

Detective McDonnell and Officer Murray passed away from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.

Detective McDonnell grew up in Staten Island and achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer in 1991. He died on May 6, 2020, and is survived by his wife, Andrea, and their son, Trevor.

Officer Eric Murray was born and raised in the Bronx, and served with the New York City Police Department for over 16 years. Officer Eric Murray died on April 9th, 2020 leaving behind his wife, Carolina, and two daughters.

“This holiday season, we honor those families who have sacrificed so much for all of us. To the families who are still grieving the recent loss of a loved one and to those who are enduring another year with an empty seat at the table, Tunnel to Towers is honored to celebrate your loved one’s service and ensure that you and your family can stay in your home forever,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO  Frank Siller.

This year alone, Tunnel to Towers will deliver over 200 mortgage-free homes across the country to America’s heroes and their families.

Join us on our mission to provide mortgage-free homes to the heroes and the families they leave behind by donating $11 per month at t2t.org.
