Tunnel to Towers Foundation Pays off Mortgage for Slain Everett Police Officer

Mortgage payoff is part of Tunnel to Towers 4th Annual Season of Hope

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is honored to announce it has paid, in full, the mortgage on the home of Everett Police Officer Daniel Rocha as part of its 4th annual Season of Hope.

Officer Rocha, 41, was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 25, 2022, while responding to a call of a suspicious person in a parking lot.  The suspect shot Rocha several times and fled.

Rocha was formally sworn into the Everett Police Department in 2017 as a parking enforcement officer and was promoted to patrol a year later.

He is survived by his wife, Kelli, and two sons. Tunnel to Towers has ensured his family can stay in their Stanwood home without the burden of a mortgage.

It means so much to us that the Foundation would remember Dan’s commitment to his department and community. This donation does more than honor him, it reminds us that even after his death, his works and acts of kindness will live on,” said Kelli Rocha.

“This holiday season, we honor those families who have sacrificed so much for all of us. To the families who are still grieving the recent loss of a loved one and to those who are enduring another year with an empty seat at the table, Tunnel to Towers is honored to celebrate your loved one’s service and ensure that you and your family can stay in your home forever,”  said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO  Frank Siller.

By the end of the year, Tunnel to Towers will have delivered over 200 mortgage-free homes across the country to America’s heroes and their families.

Join us on our mission to provide mortgage-free homes to the heroes and the families they leave behind by donating $11 per month at t2t.org.
