Tunnel to Towers Foundation Builds New Home for Family of Fallen Morton County Firefighter Joshua Schwindt
Firefighter Josh Schwindt was killed in the line of duty on August 15, 2021
On November 12, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation welcomes the family of fallen Morton County Firefighter Josh Schwindt to their brand new mortgage-free home.
Firefighter Schwindt died in the line of duty on August 15, 2021 after he was killed by downed power lines while searching for accident victims after a crash. He is survived by wife Shawn Schwindt and their children.
“Tunnel to Towers has been a true blessing for me and my family. After the passing of my husband, I had no idea how I was going to provide for my family. Tunnel to Towers has made it possible for my family to have a place to call home forever. I know Josh is smiling down knowing his family is now taken care of,” said Shawn Schwindt.
In attendance at the home dedication ceremony is Ret. FDNY Battalion Chief John Carroll who is the speaker. Chief Carroll praised Shawn’s husband’s legacy saying, “Josh lost his life searching for people who needed help. That is what heroes do. Run towards the danger, towards unknown risks, looking to help. We are honored to help your family the way Josh helped so many in this community.”
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has set a goal to reach 1,000 mortgage-free homes delivered across the country to our nation’s military and first responders, by the end of the year.
Join us on our mission to support these American heroes and their families by going to T2T.org and donating just $11 per month.
