The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s partnerships with major corporate sponsors such as The Home Depot Foundation, General Motors, Carpet One Floor & Home, and Johnson & Johnson have enabled us to grow by leaps and bounds. However, the Foundation started as a grassroots movement, and will always hold our local sponsors in extremely high regard. Our endeavors, for one our national Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series, could not be carried out with this level of support.
We’d like to recognize the tremendous backing we receive from the Metro-Dade IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) Local 1403, a group that has stepped up as the title sponsor of the inaugural Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk & Climb in Miami, Florida. This event will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Bayfront Park on Biscayne Blvd. This sponsorship is a HUGE asset to this event. Generous donations from sponsors like Metro-Dade IAFF make it possible for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to carry out the event. As you can imagine, the expenses (runner’s bibs, permits, t-shirts, etc.) associated with putting on an event of this magnitude are very high. The Foundation strives to put every dollar raised by the event back into our programs. Simply put, having a sponsor to help defray the expenses is essential. We are extremely grateful for those who step up to make such generous contributions.
Metro-Dade IAFF Local 1403’s sponsorship is ensuring that the funds collected through registration fees and fundraising efforts for the event in Miami will go directly to supporting our first responders and military heroes! The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is beyond thankful for this generous support of this first time event. It shows the faith that the Metro-Dade’s IAFF has in our Foundation and our ability to put on successful fundraisers and events. It also shows their belief to our mission to support first responders and military heroes, and their commitment to never forget the sacrifice made by their brothers on September 11, 2001.

The Metro-Dade Firefighter’s Charities is funded through the generous contributions of our own members, your local firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers. Our commitment and donation, pales in comparison to the ultimate sacrifice made by the brave men and women who, like Stephen Siller, perished on September 11, 2001. This year marks the 15th year anniversary of the terror attacks. As first responders, it is our duty to ensure the sacrifices made on that fateful day are never forgotten.”
