Denton Police Department Patrol Officer Urbano Rodriguez Jr. was born and raised in Seguin, Texas. He grew up a middle child with two sisters and enjoyed playing golf, attending shop class, and playing the trumpet, although he wasn’t the best.
Rodriguez joined the Denton PD in 2013. He decided to join the police department to protect others, provide for his family, and make his community a better place. Rodriguez loved the interactions with people, his specialty was DWI’s and dope. During Rodriguez’s distinguished career he received two purple hearts, one for saving a life and one for his injury.
One night Rodriguez pulled over a car during a traffic stop. He was questioning the driver and passenger because of suspected drug use when the passenger began to open fire. Rodriguez was shot four times in total, one being in the head. The perpetrators then tracked Officer Rodriguez down and ran him over. As a result Rodriguez lost half of his skull, had a rod put into his leg, lost the ability to read, write, and even his basic motor skills. Recovery has been a long road for Officer Rodriguez as he has had 4 brain surgeries, a shunt put into his head, and is now paralyzed on the right side of his body.
Rodriguez currently lives in Crossroads, Texas where he spends time working on his Youtube page as well as going to the gym. Rodriguez looks forward to spending time with his children, Gabriel and Madeline, his father Urbano Sr., mother Maria, older sister Liana, her two boys Jeaunus and Jack LaPierre, his younger sister Krisna, her husband Chris, and their two children, Enzo and Alexi.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has gifted Urbano Rodriguez Jr. with a custom built smart home in Crossroads, Texas.
