SPC Perry Young, born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia, enlisted in the United States Army in 2010. Young served with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Young sustained a C4-5 Spinal cord injury when he encountered a suicide bomber while on dismounted patrol on his deployment in Afghanistan. While Young has regained some mobility, he is still wheelchair dependent. Young was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his bravery and sacrifice.

SPC Young Currently lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife, Samantha, and children KinLee and James. He enjoys going to live sporting events and staying active with his wife, children, and brother, Alan. He also spends his time working with the local Wounded Warrior and Warrior Life Services.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is building a customized smart home for SPC Perry Young and his family in the Let Us Do Good Village in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
