Line of Duty Death: March 8, 2020

Capt. Moises A. Navas was killed in action on March 8, 2020, while accompanying Iraqi security forces during a mission to eliminate an Islamic State stronghold in Iraq.

Navas, known as “Mo,” was born in Panama and grew up in Maryland. He joined the Marine Corps in 2004 and served multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

The 34-year-old is survived by his wife, Liset, and four children a daughter and three sons.

“The Gold Star Family Home Program will allow us to stay in Sneads Ferry, NC with our military family and community. This will give our kids much-needed stability and security and allow me to provide for the children without having to worry about the financial stress of a mortgage,” said Liset.

Tunnel to Towers paid off the mortgage on the Navas family’s home in October of 2020.
