Logan Ross Dicus

United States Army Sergeant Logan Ross Dicus passed away on June 19, 2022 while in the line of duty.

Dicus was born and raised in Austin, Texas along with his three younger siblings. He loved growing up in the Lone Star State, having had many fond memories hunting with his grandfather, spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and playing football and baseball. Dicus and his wife, Rebecca, met while the pair were in college. Dicus played on the baseball team while Rebecca played on the softball team. They shared an instant connection and were later married.

Although Dicus had a different career prior to joining the military, he felt a strong pull to join the US Army that he no longer wished to deny. He enlisted in April of 2018 and found a lot of fulfillment in life and pride while serving. Dicus made lifelong friends, whom he loved. He also loved the camaraderie that came with being in the Army and felt he had truly found his sense of purpose. His main goals were to give back, be a part of something bigger than himself, and strive to make a positive impact wherever he went. While in service, Dicus became a Non-Commissioned Officer, which he was very proud of. He was a great mentor to his soldiers. In July of 2021, Dicus went on rotation in Europe and spent 11 months there before he unexpectedly passed away from a heart condition.

Currently, Rebecca resides in Iowa with their children, Lane and Colter. Rebecca enjoys doing home projects and woodworking projects. Additionally, she loves spending time outside–going for walks and playing with the children. In the future, she is excited to raise Lane and Colter and continue to watch them grow. Rebecca describes herself as blessed to have received the gift of a mortgage-free home from Tunnel to Towers. She is able to slow down and focus on raising her and her husband’s children. Finally, she would like others to know that Dicus was a bright spot and great friend for so many people. He was the best husband and father that Rebecca could have asked for. He is severely missed.

United States Army Sergeant Logan Ross Dicus is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, and his children, Lane and Colter. He is predeceased by his daughter, Addison.
