On May 26th, 2016, United States Army Master Sergeant Major Joseph Daniel Harrison sustained fatal injuries from an in line of duty vehicle accident.

Harrison, of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, was born and raised in Salem, Ohio. He decided to enlist into the United States Army in 1996 and became a U.S. Army Ranger. Harrison served in the 1st Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. He also was a part of the Long Range Surveillance Detachment in Korea and the U.S Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg. During his time at Fort Bragg he met his wife Tracey and they were married soon after.

Master Sergeant Joseph Daniel Harrison is survived by his wife, Tracey Harrison, and his five children.
