Idaho Army National Guard
Line of Duty Death: February 2, 2021

On February 3, 2021, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 George Geoffrey Laubhan Jr., 39, and two other Idaho Army National Guard pilots were killed when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed during a training flight just outside Boise.

CWO3 Laubhan enlisted in the Idaho Army National Guard in 2010. He underwent training to become a pilot instructor and supported Operation Beyond the Horizon in Guatemala.

In 2020, CWO3 Laubhan flew a lifesaving mission in support of Idaho Search and Rescue Operations and supported wildland firefighting operations in California.

He is survived by his wife, Jen, and his children Jillian and Connor. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will pay off the mortgage held on the Laubhan family’s home in Idaho.
