Born from the tragedy of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries out its mission to "do good," by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Tunnel to Towers is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.

Kern County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Phillip Campas died in the line of duty on July 25, 2021, when he was shot and killed working with his SWAT team at a multi-hour standoff at a residence in Wasco, CA.
Campas served in the U.S. Marine Corps for a decade, including a deployment to Afghanistan, before becoming a sheriff’s deputy.
Campas is survived by his wife, Christina, and his three children.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the mortgage on the Campas family’s home as part of its 2021 Season of Hope initiative.
