Firefighter Mitchell “Mitch” Lundgaard was killed in the line of duty on May 15, 2019, when he was shot while responding to a medical emergency.
Mitch Lundgaard was a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department. He was a dedicated firefighter who had achieved the rank of Firefighter Inspector. He has been posthumously promoted to Driver-Engineer.
He leaves behind his wife, Lindsey, and their three young sons: Evan, Logan, and Ryan.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the Lundgaard family mortgage in July 2019.
