Frederick County Fire Department Battalion Chief Joshua Laird died in the line of duty on August 11, 2021.
At a residential fire, Laird fell through the floor into the basement, suffered cardiac arrest, and was unable to be revived.
Laird was with the Frederick County Fire and Rescue for over 21 years.
Laird is survived by his wife, Sara, and his two daughters.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the mortgage on the Laird family’s home as part of its 2021 Season of Hope initiative.
