After a lengthy battle with a job-related cardiac illness, Miami Police Captain Gustavo Duarte passed away on February 9, 2021.
Duarte joined the Miami Police Department in 1985 and was assigned to the Kendall District, where he served as Police Officer, Police Corporal, Police Sergeant, and Master Sergeant.
Duarte, 60, is survived by his wife, Aimee, and his two children.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the mortgage on the Duarte family’s home as part of its 2021 Season of Hope initiative.
