Line of Duty Death: July 26, 2018
FDNY Firefighter George Scheer lost his life in the line of duty on July 26, 2018.
George Scheer dedicated his adult life to serving his community. He joined the FDNY in 2003, and also spent nearly 30 years as volunteer firefighter with the Malverne Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Fara and their two teenage daughters.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the Scheer family’s mortgage in September 2019.
