Mineral Point Fire Department, Wisconsin ● Line of Duty Death: January 6, 2022
On January 6th, 2022, Fire Captain Brian Cecil Busch sustained fatal injuries when his fire apparatus was struck by a tractor-trailer while responding to a vehicle accident.
Busch, of Wisconsin, was born in Dodgeville and raised in Mineral Point. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1997 and immediately joined the Mineral Point Fire Department once he turned 18. Busch was very involved in his community, every year he would teach fire safety to elementary school students and he also taught CCD classes with his wife, Laura at St. Mary’s & St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Busch enjoyed spending quality time with his family and watching his children participate in numerous activities.
Fire Captain Brian Cecil Busch is survived by his wife, Laura, and his children, Jackson, Annabelle, and Eleanor.
