Bradley Jones

On October 29, 2011, Police Officer Bradley Jones of the Glendale Police Department in Arizona was shot and killed while assisting a probation officer during a meeting with a parolee at an apartment complex. When Officer Jones arrived, he made contact with the subject in the parking lot. The man suddenly produced a handgun and opened fire, wounding Officer Jones. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was 26 years old and had served his department for four years. 

Jones graduated from Centennial High School where he was on the wrestling team. He grew up as one of four boys and one sister. He was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter. He wanted to become a police officer at a young age, taking criminal justice classes prior to joining the Glendale Police Department in 2007. He was assigned to patrol, working out of the Gateway Division. He had a passion for police work and for helping people. He was genuine, kind, and respectful. 

Jones met his future wife, Cindy, through a mutual friend from high school. They were married six months later. She was drawn to his kindness and how respectfully he treated everyone. They had two children together, Madisyn and Wyatt, who were adored by their father. They especially enjoyed spending time at his grandparents’ cabin, which was a place for everyone to bring their loved ones, family, and friends. Being outdoors and playing games together was precious time, never to be taken for granted. Jones loved his family deeply and will never be forgotten. 

Police Officer Bradley Jones is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, his children, Madisyn and Wyatt, and many cherished family members and friends.
