Officer Morelli was shot and killed on February 10, 2018 when they responded to a 911 hang-up call in the Westerville Division of Police jurisdiction of Ohio. Despite his mortal wounds, he was able to return fire and wounded the subject. Officer Morelli served for 29 years and is survived by his wife and two children.
