Tunnel to Towers Foundation Break Grounds on Northfield New Jersey Veterans Village
Second New Jersey Veterans Village will address Veteran Homelessness in South Jersey
NORTHFIELD, NEW JERSEY [October 28, 2026] — The Tunnel to Towers Foundation broke ground on its second New Jersey Veterans Village on Wednesday, October 28, bringing its national effort to eradicate veteran homelessness to South Jersey.
The Northfield Veteran Village will provide nearly 125 units of affordable housing for our Veterans, with 99 single occupancy rooms, 22 larger comfort homes, and wrap around on-site support services to help residents break the cycle of homelessness.
The groundbreaking marks the beginning of a new community designed to provide veterans with safe, stable housing and access to supportive services addressing the emotional, financial, and physical challenges that can contribute to homelessness.
A Tunnel to Towers Veteran Village is currently under construction in Bayville, New Jersey which will feature 98 units of affordable housing and 24 comfort homes, is expected to be completed early next year.
Tunnel to Towers launched its national Homeless Veteran Program in 2022. To date, the Foundation has provided housing assistance and access to supportive services to more than 20,000 veterans and their families through Veterans Villages across the country and its National Case Management Network.
The Northfield groundbreaking marks another significant step in that mission and brings this innovative supportive-housing model to veterans in South Jersey.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation believes that no veteran should live on the streets of the nation they served to protect. Through its Veterans Villages and National Case Management Network, the Foundation works to provide not only a home, but also the supportive services veterans need to address the underlying challenges of homelessness and build a path toward stability.
The Northfield groundbreaking represents the Foundation’s continued investment in New Jersey veterans and its broader national effort to eradicate veteran homelessness.
