HOME COMPLETED - OCTOBER 2026

Navy Lieutenant Charles Dispenzieri grew up in a Navy family, traveling the world during his father’s 29-year military career. Surrounded by aviation from an early age, he developed a passion for flying and set his sights on becoming a pilot. He began his own military journey at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1999.

What Dispenzieri loved most about military service was the dynamic environment, the strong friendships forged along the way, and the opportunity to work in what he calls “the best offices in the world” – airplanes and helicopters. Among his proudest accomplishments was completing Navy flight school, a milestone that turned a lifelong dream into reality.

Dispenzieri faced a life-altering challenge when a line-of-duty spinal cord injury resulted in quadriplegia, forever changing the course of his journey. He credits the unwavering support of his wife, Sara, with helping him overcome his greatest challenges and ultimately saving his life. Together, they cherish time with their children and enjoy cheering them on at sporting events and activities.

Despite his physical limitations, Navy Lieutenant Charles Dispenzieri demonstrates every day that with perseverance and a positive mindset, nearly anything is achievable. The support from Tunnel to Towers has reassured him that his family will always have a home, and for that he will be forever grateful.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has provided Navy Lieutenant Charles Dispenzieri with a mortgage-free smart home through the Smart Home Program.
