Weather Update: 25th Annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk

We can’t wait to see you this Sunday as we mark 25 years of honoring Stephen Siller and all of our heroes.

We know many of you are watching the forecast. So are we. As of now, the event is ON as scheduled. We are monitoring conditions closely with our city and public safety partners, because the safety of our runners, walkers, volunteers and first responders always comes first.

To help you prepare for a wet morning, please note these updates:

Travel: Water taxi service may be impacted Sunday morning. Please note that the U.S. Coast Guard has the authority to suspend ferry and water taxi service at any time due to weather conditions. We strongly encourage you to allow yourself extra time to reach the Start Line in Red Hook.

Conditions in the tunnel: Heavy rain may leave standing water in the tunnel. Please wear footwear and clothing you don’t mind getting soaked. Temperatures will feel close to 50 degrees, so bring a dry layer for after the finish.

Medical support: FDNY EMS will be stationed along the route and at the finish.
