HOME COMPLETED - MAY 2026

Army Specialist Corine Hamilton was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, where her passion for athletics began early. Active in sports throughout primary and high school, she carried that discipline and drive with her when she migrated to the United States after graduation.

She became a Licensed Practical Nurse in April 2020 before joining the U.S. Army. Determined to continue her education, Hamilton went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management with a minor in Business Administration, along with certificates in Human Resources Management, Health Information Management, and Data Analytics—all from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Inspired by her father, who was a soldier, Hamilton felt called to follow in his footsteps. She valued the structure, discipline, and sense of purpose the military offered, leading her to enlist in the Army on May 5, 2020. During her service, Hamilton built strong bonds with fellow soldiers and embraced the stability, opportunities, and camaraderie that military life provided.

Hamilton’s dedication and excellence earned her two Army Commendation Medals and an Army Achievement Medal. She also distinguished herself in adaptive sports, representing Team USA at the Invictus Games in Germany, where she earned a silver medal in shot put. She competed twice in the Warrior Games for Team Army, achieving a combined total of 18 medals, and later earned seven medals at the 2024 National Veterans Wheelchair Games representing Team Tampa VA.

While serving in Germany, Hamilton was injured in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury and paralysis. Despite the profound challenges that followed, she has continued to embody resilience, faith, and determination. Today, she enjoys traveling, coloring, adaptive sports, volunteering, visiting theme and water parks, and solving word puzzles.

Hamilton credits the support from Tunnel to Towers as a tremendous blessing, easing the stress of rebuilding her life by providing her with a home adapted to her needs. She acknowledges that the journey has not been easy—there were moments when she doubted she would make it this far—but she remains committed to moving forward with strength and faith.

Army Specialist Corine Hamilton’s guiding belief is simple yet powerful: keep going, keep pushing, trust God. There will be hard days, but she refuses to stay down. Giving up has never been an option.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has provided Army Specialist Corine Hamilton with a mortgage-free smart home in the Let Us Do Good Village through the Smart Home Program.
