United States Army Staff Sergeant Lloyd Perryman Sr. tragically passed away on March 29, 2021 from a pulmonary embolism.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Perryman Sr. spent his formative years in Atlanta, Georgia. An energetic child, he discovered a passion for fishing through the Boy Scouts at Elizabeth Baptist Church. Perryman Sr.’s involvement in youth football at Collier Park blossomed into a lifelong love for the sport, making him a devoted supporter and fan of the Atlanta Falcons.
Perryman Sr. enlisted in the Army in 1998 as a 96B Intelligence Analyst. After his first enlistment, he joined the Georgia Army National Guard in December 2003. He deployed to Kuwait in 2004 (Operation Enduring Freedom), Iraq in 2011 (Operation New Dawn), and Kosovo in 2019-2020 (Joint Guardian), all with the 1-171st GSAB. Perryman Sr. received over 20 military awards and decorations. His unwavering commitment to service and country will forever be remembered with honor and gratitude.
Perryman Sr. met his wife, Elaine, while they both were working at the Fort McPherson base. In 2015, he married Elaine, his longtime friend and cherished partner. They were blessed with their greatest joys — two beautiful children, Lloyd and Llynise. As a family, they treasured time spent watching movies, cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, traveling, and sharing in life’s everyday moments.
Elaine currently resides in Georgia. She is a Girl Scout Leader, PTO Co-President at her daughter’s school, and Co-President of Mocha Moms. She is so proud of her children and enjoys watching them grow into wonderful and productive citizens. Elaine’s strength and devotion to her family have been a source of comfort during this difficult time, and she continues to honor Perryman’s memory through the love and guidance she gives their children.
United States Army Staff Sergeant Lloyd Perryman Sr. is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine, and their two beautiful children, Lloyd and Llynise.
