Grand Opening of Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Georgia Veterans Village

Housing and Honoring Those Who Served

ATLANTA, GEORGIA [August 26, 2025] – On Tuesday, August 26, at 4:00 PM, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T) will open the doors to the Atlanta Veterans Village, providing safe and dignified housing for nearly 90 formerly homeless veterans.

The Atlanta Veterans Village offers on-site wrap-around supportive services, addressing a veteran’s specific emotional, financial, and physical needs to help them rebuild their lives and break the cycle of homelessness.

Tunnel to Towers’ Homeless Veteran Program is committed to ending veteran homelessness nationwide. The program honors the sacrifice and dignity of those who served by ensuring that no veteran is left on the streets of the country they volunteered to defend.

This establishment marks the first homeless veteran housing facility that The Home Depot Foundation has supported with T2T, with the Foundation investing $500,000 to support the renovation. The Home Depot Foundation also mobilized 100+ Team Depot volunteers, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, to beautify the space by creating a mural, assembling patio furniture, building a pergola, setting up the residents’ bathrooms, and planting garden beds. Additionally, The Home Depot Home donated essential home items—furnishing each of the 88 units with sheets, quilts, pillows, shower curtains, and bathmats.

This local grand opening builds on a long-standing partnership: Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $24 million into the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supporting more than 100 specially adapted, mortgage-free smart homes for combat-wounded veterans.

Atlanta is one of several dozen current and future building sites. To date, the Homeless Veteran Program has provided housing and access to supportive services to over 10,000 veterans.
