On October 25, 2021, Newport Beach Police Department Sergeant Randall Parker Jr. died in the line of duty after a high intensity work detail.
Parker is remembered as a top level police officer, with over 20 years of honorable service under his belt. He was a third generation Newport Beach Police Officer, whose father, Randall Parker Sr., served in specialized units, and his grandfather, Jim Parker, served as a NBPD captain and later the Chief of Police in Reno.
Parker was a professional and effective detective, who was highly respected by his colleagues. Above all else, Parker was a dedicated and loving husband and father, and a dear friend to many. He was just 44 years old at the time of his passing, and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Newport Beach Police Department Sergeant Randall Parker Jr. is survived by his wife, Heidi, and two children.
