Thomas Rees

Unexpectedly on December 28, 2021 Firefighter Thomas Rees passed away in his sleep while on duty at the firehouse. It was then determined that while sleeping, Thomas had gone into cardiac arrest. He was only 38 years old. Thomas “Tommy”, had worked for the Jefferson Township Fire Department for six and half years.

Rees was born and raised in Jefferson Township, Ohio. His passing was felt deeply throughout the community.

Rees was somebody who could always be counted on for a laugh, a smile and a helping hand. He was there to help his friends and co-workers in any time of need. He was a kind and genuine person who loved being around people. Those close to him said he was a stranger to no one and a friend to everyone.

He was a devoted family man, and was said to be a sincerely great guy by all his friends. He always kept in contact with old neighbors and friends no matter the distance, and cherished his time spent with family. Firefighter Thomas Rees is survived by his wife and four children.
