Tunnel to Towers Pays off Mortgage on Home of Fallen Connecticut Sergeant
Bristol Police Sergeant Dustin DeMonte was shot and killed on October 12, 2022.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is honored to announce it has paid off the mortgage held on the home of Bristol, Connecticut Police Sergeant Dustin DeMonte as part of its annual Season of Hope Campaign.
Sgt DeMonte was one of two officers killed on October 12, 2022, in an apparent ambush attack. He was a 10-year veteran of the force and leaves behind his pregnant wife, Laura, and their two young children.
Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller met with Laura and her family on Tuesday to hand-deliver the mortgage payoff notice.
“There are no words to express my gratitude to Mr. Siller and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. To have the freedom to continue forward without the financial burden of a mortgage allows me to spend the most time and energy on my children as possible, which I am so thankful for. In addition to financial support, this Foundation provides a network of people who understand and truly care. That network reaches so far and wide, and it brings me a great sense of comfort and connectedness during this extremely dark time,” said Laura Demonte.
Tunnel to Towers’ Season of Hope, celebrates the holiday season by ensuring these families, who are facing the holidays without their loved one, will always have a place to call home.
“It was important for me to deliver this news in person, to show Laura that while it seems that the world has moved on, we have not forgotten her or her husband’s sacrifice. As her family prepares to celebrate the first Christmas without Dustin, we want her to know she can stay in the home they shared forever,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation Fallen First Responder Home Program pays off the mortgages for the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty and leave behind young children.
This year alone, Tunnel to Towers will deliver over 200 mortgage-free homes across the country to America’s heroes and their families.
Join us on our mission to provide mortgage-free homes to the heroes and the families they leave behind by donating $11 per month at t2t.org.
