Tunnel to Towers Pays Off Mortgage on Home of Injured ARMY Corporal

Mortgage Payoff is part of Tunnel to Towers 4th Annual Season of Hope

This December the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is honored to announce it has paid off the mortgage on the home of double-leg amputee U.S. Army Corporal Kevin Brewington as part of the 2022 Season of Hope.

In addition to paying off the mortgage Tunnel to Towers installed smart technology throughout the home to help CPL Brewington to live more independently.

CPL Brewingting enlisted in the army in 2010 and deployed to Afghanistan a year later. On September 22, 2011, CPL Brewington’s unit was returning to base when he triggered an IED. He lost both legs instantly in the blast and nearly lost his right arm.

He underwent nearly 50 surgeries, and after a year and a half of therapy, he medically retired from the army in 2013.

Since his retirement, he has worked to support his fellow veterans serving as an ambassador and working with nonprofits that take veterans on outdoor excursions.

It will take a financial burden off of our family and additions that the smart home will add to our home will make it easier on me and make it easier for me as a father,” said CPL Brewington.

“This holiday season, we honor those families who have sacrificed so much for all of us. To the families who are still grieving the recent loss of a loved one and to those who are enduring another year with an empty seat at the table, Tunnel to Towers is honored to celebrate your loved one’s service and ensure that you and your family can stay in your home forever,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO  Frank Siller.

This year alone, Tunnel to Towers will deliver over 200 mortgage-free homes across the country to America’s heroes and their families.

Join us on our mission to provide mortgage-free homes to the heroes and the families they leave behind by donating $11 per month at t2t.org.
