Tunnel to Towers Foundation to Celebrate Opening of 14 Comfort Homes in Houston Veterans Village
Comfort Homes Join Fully Renovated Hotel, Servicing Hundreds of Veterans in Houston
HOUSTON, TX [August 13, 2025] – On Wednesday, August 13th, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T) will celebrate the completion of Phase II of its Houston Veterans Village, with the opening of 14 Comfort Homes to complement the existing apartment complex. These accessible comfort homes will serve as permanent housing for senior veterans.
The Tunnel to Towers 500-square-foot Comfort Homes include everything you would expect in a traditional home. They are fully furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living space. The Comfort Homes are built in America and dropped onto the property. These homes provide a private, permanent place for older veterans to live with comfort and dignity, while being close enough to take advantage of the wrap-around services being offered in the main Veterans Village building.Â
Since 2023, T2T has been providing both permanent and transitional housing, as well as supportive services, to hundreds of veterans in the Houston area through the Houston Veterans Village, a converted 161-room hotel, as part of their effort to eradicate nationwide veteran homelessness through their Homeless Veteran Program.Â
Tunnel to Towers’ Homeless Veteran Program is committed to ending veteran homelessness nationwide. The program honors the sacrifice and dignity of the American Service Member by ensuring that no veteran is left out on the streets of the country they volunteered to defend.
Houston is one of several dozen current and future building sites. To date, the Homeless Veteran Program has provided housing and access to supportive services to over 10,000 veterans.
