Tunnel to Towers Foundation to Break Ground on a New Residential Facility for Homeless Veterans in Memphis Tennessee

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will detail its plans to eradicate Veteran Homelessness in Memphis, Tennessee with the groundbreaking for the new Memphis Veterans Village on Thursday, July 25th.

Tunnel to Towers has purchased the shuttered hotel on Riverdale Bend and will transform it into housing for America’s Veterans.

As part of this project, Tunnel to Towers will renovate every room, installing new flooring, furniture, fixtures, and appliances, making each room an independent living space for America’s Veterans to call home.

When completed in 2025, the Memphis Veterans Village will provide housing for over 100 formerly homeless veterans.

The Veterans Village is so much more than just housing. The first floor will offer on-site comprehensive support services for residents. Some services include job training, benefits assistance, education assistance, medical care access, mental health support + PTSD counseling, and addiction treatment.

In 2023, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation launched its Homeless Veteran Program with the ambitious mission to eradicate Veteran homelessness nationwide. To date, the Tunnel to Towers has provided housing assistance and services to more than 5,000 veterans.

There are currently Veterans Villages operating in Houston, Texas; Riverside, California; West Los Angeles, California; and Phoenix, Arizona.

Tunnel to Towers has broken ground on the next two locations in Bradenton, Florida, and Mableton, Georgia.

Before the end of the year, Tunnel to Towers will start on additional Veterans Villages in Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina; Buffalo, New York; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Tunnel to Towers continues its original mission to support America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
