The Tunnel to Towers Foundation Breaks Ground on Denver Veterans Village

Ceremony took place on November 7 at 10:00 AM

Just days before Veterans Day, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a non-profit that supports America’s first responders, Gold Star families, and military veterans is bringing its mission to eradicate Veteran Homelessness to Denver, Colorado.

On November 7, at 10:00 A.M the Tunnel to Towers Foundation broke ground on the Denver Veterans Village.

Tunnel to Towers purchased the hotel at 1680 South Colorado Blvd and will transform it into affordable housing for over 100 Veterans, with each room being transformed into a single-occupancy studio-style apartment.

Once complete, the Denver Veterans Village will provide on-site comprehensive support services, including job training, benefits assistance, education assistance, medical care access, mental health support and PTSD counseling, and addiction treatment to break the cycle of homelessness.

Tunnel to Towers believes that no Veteran who volunteered to serve our country should be left struggling on the streets they once helped to defend.

In 2023, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation launched its Homeless Veteran Program with the ambitious mission to eradicate Veteran homelessness nationwide, and has provided housing assistance and services to more than 6,500 veterans. The Foundation has Veterans Villages in Houston, Texas; Riverside, California; West Los Angeles, California; and Phoenix, Arizona. Construction is underway on Villages in Bradenton, Florida, Mableton, Georgia, Island Park, New York, Charleston, South Carolina, and Detroit, Michigan. Tunnel to Towers is ready to bring this program to Colorado.

Tunnel to Towers thanks Suncor Energy U.S.A., Inc. for donating over half a million dollars to support this project and Veterans in the greater Denver area.

Tunnel to Towers continues its mission to support America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. By the end of this year, Tunnel to Towers will deliver 200 mortgage-free homes to these heroes and the families they left behind.
