An organization established in memory of a fallen firefighter during 9/11 has announced it has now paid off the mortgage of the family home belonging to fallen Illinois State Police Trooper Nick Hopkins. Trooper Hopkins was killed on Aug. 23, when he and members of his SWAT team attempted to serve a warrant in East St. Louis. He left behind his wife and high school sweetheart Whitney, their 4-year-old twins, Evelyn and Owen, and their baby girl, Emma.
