HOME COMPLETED - DECEMBER 2025

United States Army Sergeant Jonathan “Chase” Gean grew up with a love for adventure and a deep desire to serve his country. From an early age, he dreamed of becoming a soldier. His passions included firearms, off-road driving, and spending time in the great outdoors. Driven by an inner calling to serve, he enlisted in the Army in August 1999.

Gean thrived in the military environment, embracing the brotherhood, discipline, structure, and professionalism that defined Army life. His dedication and leadership earned him promotion to tactical leader, where he guided his men through the challenges of combat.

During a patrol in the Korangal Valley of Afghanistan, his squad was ambushed by Taliban forces. In the firefight, Gean was shot in the lower back and right arm, injuries that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

At the lowest point in his life, he found strength and hope through the woman who became his wife, his angel sent by God.

Today, despite the hardships he has faced, Gean continues to embrace life with resilience and joy. He remains passionate about the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He considers the support provided to him and his family by Tunnel to Towers to be nothing short of a miracle.

Above all, the message United States Army Sergeant Jonathan “Chase” Gean wants to share with the world is simple yet powerful: Never quit.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has provided United States Army Sergeant Jonathan “Chase” Gean with a mortgage-free smart home through the Smart Home Program.
