HOME COMPLETED - JULY 2025

United States Army Private First Class Charlie Figueroa was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where early on he discovered a passion for martial arts, outdoor sports, and swimming—interests that shaped his discipline and adventurous spirit. After graduating from John Jay High School, Figueroa stepped forward to serve his country by joining the Army Reserve. Just a year later, his dedication led him to transfer into the regular Army.

Stationed overseas in Germany, Figueroa served proudly in a combat infantry unit specializing in anti-armor rocket operations. His training and service reflected not only courage but a deep sense of purpose.

A cascade of medical events stemming from his service left him a quadriplegic, however, Figueroa’s resilience only deepened. He has met each hurdle with a positive spirit, and continues to pursue martial arts and swimming. He also enjoys sharpening his skills at the pool table, always up for a good challenge.

As the proud father of three adult children—Sally, Charles, and Christopher—Figueroa draws strength and joy from the love of his family. Their constant encouragement uplifts his spirit. Figueroa’s story is a reminder that true strength often shines brightest through adversity.
