The Home Depot Foundation, which serves as the philanthropic arm of The Home Depot and has invested more than $380 million in local communities since 2002, is at the forefront of improving the homes and the lives of U.S. military veterans and their families. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is excited to be a partner in Team Depot’s Celebration of Service social media campaign!
From the moment we stepped foot in Georgia to build USMC Cpl. Todd Love’s smart home, the support we have received, and continue to receive, from The Home Depot has been second to none. Whether supporting our Hurricane Sandy efforts here at on Staten Island, or helping us bring home catastrophically injured service members through our Building for America’s Bravest program, The Home Depot has been there every step of the way.
This social media campaign is just another way in which The Home Depot is stepping up to raise awareness and funds to support our mission to provide specially adaptive smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members. We are honored to be one of the nine non-profit partners selected for this program.
Here’s how it works, and how you can help! Now through November 11th, The Home Depot will donate $1 for every #ServiceSelfie that is posted on social media (up to $1 million). To participate in the campaign to support the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation:
- Grab your cell phone and take a selfie (of yourself or with friends!) while performing community service or just showing your love for Tunnel to Towers.
- Post on our social media sites using the hashtag #ServiceSelfie.
- Tag Tunnel to Towers (@tunnel2towers) and Team Depot (@TeamDepot) on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Be sure to get your friends and family to like, comment, share, retweet, and regram your #serviceselfie as they count in the campaign as well!!
So get out that selfie stick, put on your favorite Tunnel to Towers hat or t-shirt, and grab your friends to show support for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and our Building for America’s Bravest program! We have the best supporters around and we want to see your #ServiceSelfies! We will be sure to share your #ServiceSelfies on our social media pages. So, get to it and show your T2T pride!
Check out some of the staff’s #ServiceSelfies below! We are having so much fun getting social and sharing our pride to follow in Stephen Siller’s footsteps to “do good” by supporting our first responders and military heroes!!
You can also support this campaign by liking Team Depot on Facebook. Be on the lookout for posts highlighting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation on their page. Every like, comment, and share of these posts will donate another $1 to support our nation’s heroes!
Thank you to our friends at The Home Depot for this wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and much needed funds! Together, we are providing the American Dream of owning a home to those who fought for us. What a great tribute just in time for Veterans Day!
