On August 22nd, 2007, United States Army Specialist Michael Anthony Hook was killed in a helicopter crash while serving overseas in Iraq.
Hook was raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania and graduated from the Altoona Area High School in 2001 before entering the armed forces. Hook was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Outside of his service, Hook loved spending his summers at the Jersey shore with his family. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football fan with a love for fishing and weight lifting.
Hook is remembered for his courage, determination and fortitude when serving in the army. He absolutely loved being in the military and wanted nothing more than to make a career out of the time he spent serving.
United States Army Specialist Michael Anthony Hook is survived by his fiancee, Susan and their son, Mason.
