Line of Duty Death: October 4, 2017

On October 4th, 2017, United States Army Sergeant LaDavid Terrence Johnson was killed during an ambush in Niger, while on a mission to gather information from Nigerian soldiers on the whereabouts of a high ranking Islamic State Militant.

Johnson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High in 2010 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2012. Soon after completing basic training, Johnson attended an Advanced Individual Training school where he studied to become a mechanical engineer. Johnson received numerous awards including but not limited to, the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat and Specific Skills Badge, Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge, Driver and Mechanics Badge.

U.S. Army Sergeant LaDavid Terrence Johnson is survived by his wife, Myeshia Johnson and his three children, Ah’leeysa, LaDavid, and La’Shaee.
