On January 27th, 2009, United States Marine Corps Sergeant David W. Wallace sustained fatal injuries from an Improvised Explosive Device located in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Wallace, of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, loved sports especially football, wrestling, hunting, fishing, and weightlifting. He enjoyed doing yard work and cooking as well, especially spicy foods. Wallace was a combat engineer whose job entailed removing and detonating bombs, working on vehicles, and construction projects. He served two tours in Iraq from September 2004 to April 2005 and from July 2007 to January 2008. He also served in Bangladesh and Dubai.

U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant David W. Wallace is survived by his wife, Erica Wallace, and his two children Landon and Brookelyn.
