U.S. Army Sergeant David Alexander Stephens was killed in the line of duty on April 12, 2007, in an IED blast in Afghanistan.

Stephens was a combat medic and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

SGT Stephens joined the Army in March 2005. Stephens was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in February 2006 and was a 2002 graduate of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in abnormal psychology.

Stephens is survived by his wife, Megan, and his daughter.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the mortgage on the Stephens family’s home.
