Line of Duty Death: August 22, 2022

On August 22, 2022, Sergeant Dash Allen Cody Cheatham passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer attributed to his military service.

Cheatham enlisted in the United States Army immediately following his graduation from High School in 2008. Cheatham was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 and 2013, and earned several awards during his time of service, including but not limited to The Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 stars, The Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (2), Army Good Conduct Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, Foreign Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, his Non-Commissioned Officer, and NATO medal, as well as ribbons in his honor for Professional Development, Army Service, Overseas Service (2), and Certificate of Achievement (4).

Cheatham was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor in 2019, attributed to burn pit exposure during his time serving in Afghanistan. He fought courageously for three years, and passed away in the arms of his beloved wife, Gianina.

Sergeant Dash Allen Cody Cheatham is survived by his loving wife, Gianina Cheatham, and two beautiful children, Braxton Cheatham, age 6, and Isabella Cheatham, age 4.
