Army Major Agustin Gonzalez was a career infantry officer who deployed four times to Afghanistan.
The 36-year-old was killed when his vehicle collided with a tow truck on a Kentucky highway on Memorial Day Weekend May 25, 2019.
His two daughters, Noelle, 6, and Gwen, 2, also lost their lives in the crash.
The family was on their way to Maj. Gonzalez’s new post in Fort Carson, Colorado Springs.
Maj. Gonzalez left behind his son, Nicholas, who survived the crash, and his wife, Melissa, and infant son, Gabriel who were traveling separately.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the family’s mortgage on April 5, 2020 in honor of Gold Star Spouses’ Day.
