Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff Sypraseuth Phouangphrachanh passed away on March 31, 2020 from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty
Phouangphrachanh was born in the country of Laos and grew up in Rockingham, North Carolina. Phouangphrachanh served the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for 14 years in North Carolina after previously working for the Candor Police Department. Phouangphrachanh began his career with the intention to make a difference in the lives of children. He later served as a School Resource Officer to middle school and high schools. Phouangphrachanh prioritized the safety of those around him above himself each and every day and made an immense difference in his community.
Deputy Sheriff Sypraseuth Phouangphrachanh is survived by his wife, Heather Marie Lemonds Phouangphrachanh and his five children, Madison, Erica, Kristina, Logan and Aidehn.
