Wilson, North Carolina Police Captain Reginald Kamal Smith passed away on January 7th, 2022 from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.
Smith joined the Wilson Police Department in 1999 as a patrol officer. After years of hard work and dedication, Smith became president of the Police Athletic League in 2010, where he mentored countless youths in Wilson, and he most recently earned a promotion to the rank of captain in 2018. Smith is remembered as a true friend and dedicated law enforcement officer.
Police Captain Reginald Kamal Smith is survived by his wife, Adrienne, and their four children, Riley, Gianna, Nylah, and Rylan.
