Line of Duty Death: July 7, 2016
Five police officers from Dallas, Texas – Sgt. Michael Smith, Police Chief Brent Thompson, Sr. Cpl. Lorne Ahrens, Officer Michael Krol, and Officer Patrick Zamarripa – were assassinated during protests in 2016. Tunnel to Towers raised funds for the families, helping them pay off mortgages or address other family needs.
Patrick Zamarripa survived three tours of Iraq before his life was taken in Dallas.
